A growing family, blooming gardens, and sweet summer light made this Loose Park golden hour maternity session so special. The Trogdon family spent the evening soaking in this exciting season together before welcoming their newest little one.
Loose Park is one of the most beautiful locations for maternity photographs in Kansas City. The gardens, stone steps, and open greenery create a timeless backdrop for family sessions. Even with cloudy skies, the park still gave us soft and flattering light throughout the evening.
One of my favorite parts of this Loose Park golden hour maternity session was watching their daughter interact with her parents. She hugged her dad tightly, reached for mom’s belly, and smiled through every moment. Those little interactions always become some of the most meaningful photographs.
The Trogdons chose outfits that felt relaxed and natural for the session. Mom wore a flowing brown dress that complemented the greenery perfectly. Their neutral tones kept the focus on their connection instead of distracting from it. Simple styling often creates the most timeless photographs.
Maternity sessions are about more than documenting a baby bump. They capture anticipation, excitement, and the emotions that come with growing a family. Throughout the session, the Trogdons laughed together, cuddled close, and embraced every moment with so much joy.
Loose Park continues to be one of my favorite places for maternity photography because every corner feels peaceful and romantic. The rose gardens, large trees, and walking paths offer so much variety without needing to travel between locations.
This session felt warm, genuine, and full of love from beginning to end! Baby Trogdon is already surrounded by so much excitement, and it was such an honor to capture this beautiful season for their family.

There’s nothing sweeter than getting to walk alongside couples through every chapter of their love story. I first met Kaela and Kyle during their engagement session, celebrated with them again on their wedding day, and now, I had the honor of capturing their Kansas City maternity session at BrushCo Studio. It’s a joy and privilege to document these milestones, and this one was extra special—they welcomed a beautiful baby girl about a month later!
BrushCo Studio in Kansas City provided the perfect backdrop for their maternity portraits. With its airy windows, neutral tones, and warm textures, the studio allowed the love and anticipation between Kaela and Kyle to truly shine. The simplicity of the space let us focus on the sweet moments—like Kaela’s radiant glow, Kyle’s proud smiles, and the joy they shared as they prepared to become parents.
One of my favorite parts of this session was how natural and relaxed the Eisenbargers were together. From quiet moments on the couch to playful laughter as they walked hand in hand with their daughter, every photograph reflected their deep connection. The warmth of the session was a reminder of just how much love already surrounds their little one.
Sessions like this are a beautiful reminder that photography is about more than just one day—it’s about telling a story. From “yes” at the proposal to “I do” at the altar, and now preparing for parenthood, Kaela and Kyle’s journey has been such an honor to capture.
This BrushCo Studio Kansas City maternity session was the perfect celebration of the Eisenbargers’ next chapter. I can’t wait to see the memories they’ll continue to make as a family of three (plus one sweet big sister!).

This sweet maternity and newborn session with the Thorsteinsons is one I’ll never forget. We met at Shawnee Mission Park during golden hour for a cozy, winter maternity session. It beautifully captured their final days as a family of three. The soft light, warm tones, and quiet nature surrounding us made the perfect setting for this maternity session at Shawnee.
Mom looked absolutely radiant in her soft white sweater dress, and big brother was curious and cuddly—full of energy but happy to snuggle close. The anticipation was so special. You could feel how ready they were to welcome baby Isaac.
Just a few weeks later, I joined them again—this time in the comfort of their home—for baby Isaac’s newborn session. Their cozy nursery was full of thoughtful details, from a shelf of keepsakes to sweet ultrasound photographs and a plush bunny wearing a name tag that read “Hello, my name is Isaac.” It was such a heartfelt space, perfect for the newest member of the Thorsteinson family.
Watching big brother peek in at Isaac during his bottle feeding was such a tender moment. You could already see their bond beginning to bloom! Mom and dad took turns holding him by the window light, soaking in the quiet, joy-filled moments that come with those early days at home. Their in-home newborn session was relaxed and genuine, just like them.
Whether outside at Shawnee Mission Park or cuddled up indoors, the Thorsteinsons’ love for one another shone through every image. These are the sessions that make this work feel like magic—capturing a chapter of change, connection, and new beginnings.
If you’re looking to document your own maternity and newborn journey, a two-part session like this is the perfect way to freeze time before and after baby arrives.
