Rylee and Caleb’s Nelson Atkins Museum engagement session was the perfect celebration of summer love. We met up in early June, and the golden evening light gave everything a soft, dreamy glow. These two were all smiles, full of laughter, and totally wrapped up in each other from the first click of the camera.

The Nelson is one of my favorite spots in Kansas City for engagement sessions, and this one reminded me exactly why. From the clean architecture to the classic stone staircases and the iconic shuttlecocks, every backdrop adds something timeless and fun. Rylee’s blue embroidered dress popped perfectly against the warm tones of the museum and lush green hedges. These two looked effortlessly adorable!

Throughout their Nelson Atkins Museum engagement session, Rylee and Caleb brought so much energy and joy. They cuddled up on the steps, slow danced in the grass, and couldn’t stop smiling during the whole shoot. I always encourage couples to just be themselves and enjoy the moment—and they absolutely did.

One of my favorite moments was when they leaned in for a kiss while holding hands, framed by the sky above them. It was sweet and spontaneous and felt like something right out of a love story. It’s those little moments, full of movement and connection, that make engagement sessions so fun to photograph.

Sessions like this are a great reminder that you don’t need anything fancy—just a couple in love, a beautiful location, and a little sunshine. Rylee and Caleb, thank you for trusting me to capture this exciting chapter. You two are the real deal, and I’m so excited for what’s ahead for you both!
