There’s something so special about photographing a college grad! The energy is high, the excitement is real, and the future feels wide open. Brooke’s graduation session at Liberty Memorial was the perfect mix of joy, pride, and that unmistakable Kansas City glow.
Liberty Memorial is one of my favorite spots for sessions because it gives you so many different looks in one place—clean architecture, sweeping skyline views, and that gorgeous golden light that hits just right at sunset. And Brooke absolutely brought the sunshine with her.
Brooke showed up in the sweetest white dress and her cap and gown, ready to celebrate all the hard work that brought her to this moment. She laughed through the entire session, and honestly, her brightness made everything around her even prettier.
We started near the tiled walls of the memorial, where the colors and textures gave a modern, editorial feel. Then we moved toward the open plaza for those classic cap-and-gown photos every grad needs. Brooke twirled, tossed her cap, and soaked up every second of her achievement.
One of the best parts of shooting at Liberty Memorial is the skyline. Brooke’s session wrapped with soft golden light spilling across downtown Kansas City—the perfect backdrop for this huge life milestone. The way she smiled looking toward the city felt symbolic. Like she was stepping confidently into everything that comes next.
Whether you’re a high school or college grad, capturing this moment matters. You’ve worked so hard to reach this point, and you deserve images that feel as joyful and accomplished as you are.

I had the pleasure of working with West Village Realty in a portrait session recently! We started in their A frame office house for portraits of each woman. They all wore very clean and classy business attire that suited each of them so well. They’re a bubbly group of women who know how to have a good time, and made me feel welcome in their space.
Their office space is located in Prairie Village, on a beautiful lot that is secluded but welcoming. After grabbing individual headshots of each woman, we took group shots both in their studio, and right outside. We couldn’t forget to pop a bottle of champagne to toast to the powerful women that run their brokerage. The West Village Realty women are masters of their craft, and make it easy to build a relationship with them. I loved spending the afternoon getting headshots for this group. Make sure to check them out if you’re looking to relocate to Kansas City.
