Christina and Nick had their engagement session at the snowy Shawnee Mission park right outside of Kansas City! I love this park and all it has to offer, not only in the winter but the sunsets during the summer are a can’t miss!
You can read more about the park and its trails here!
Christina and Nick stayed cozy their entire session while still showing off their playful side by having a brief snow fight! I feel like we timed their session perfectly because before heading towards the water, we got to enjoy the sun before it hit the horizon! And once it hit over the water, golden hour couldn’t have been better!

Christina and Nick, thank you for choosing me to shoot your engagement session! I had the best time with you both!
I met with Christina and Nick at Antioch Park in Kansas City last summer! This was a perfect night to dance around the park. Christina wore the cutest polka dot dress to start the night! I actually found a this dupe to her dress that I might buy for myself!!
After making getting away from the water for a bit, they both changed into a bit more casual clothing! This was actually perfect because not only did they want some fancier clothing options for their session, we set up the time where they could fit both dressy and casual into their session!
We were lucky enough to get a beautiful sunset that night! The sun peaked through the trees while I had Christina and Nick share a few intimate moments with one another. Antioch Park is honestly the perfect place to get some variety during an engagement session! We were able to get soft light around the trees while also getting that beautiful golden hour light on the water from the sun! This park, and Loose park, are so cool to have right in the city! Check out this engagement session I had there last spring!
This day with Christina and Nick was too fun! They’re both full of so much love for one another and have so much fun just doing the simple things with one another!
I met Kelsey and Ben for their engagement session at the Nelson Atkins Museum in Kansas City! We were able to take advantage of the entirety of their beautiful outdoor space!
They did a few outfit changes during their session too! A few dressy options and a few more casual, which was exactly what they wanted to stay true to them as a couple!
Although it was a gloomy day, that didn’t take away from Kelsey & Ben complimenting each location we went to! Not only did they share an exciting champagne pop to celebrate being engaged, they brought their dog to join the fun!!
I’m a huge fan of ALL my couples bringing their dog(s) to their their engagement sessions! One of my couples, Megan & Andrew, had these fun floral collars made for their dog’s for their engagement session, check them out here!!
I was super grateful to have spent this night at the Nelson Atkins Museum with Kelsey & Ben! So much laughing & dancing around the museum it couldn’t have gone any better! These two are filled with so much love for one another I feel honored to have captured it!
Shawnee Mission Park is one of my favorite places in the city if you’re wanting those beautiful natural vibes at your engagement session.
Kayla & Austin told me they wanted golden hour photos, at a place they could bring their pups. And they love the outdoors, so we opted for Shawnee Mission Park. I’ve shot here a few times before, but it’s always fresh & new with each couple.
We wandered around the park taking photos together. These two are so full of joy! So much laughter at this session. We shot all over the park, and then they did a quick outfit change before we moved out to the wide open field for the last bit of golden hour.
Kayla & Austin, thank you so much for choosing me to capture your engagement session! I really enjoyed shooting with you two!!
When Megan and Andrew told me they wanted to have a beautiful Spring outdoorsy vibe to their engagement photos, I immediately thought of Loose Park, here in Kansas City.
Loose Park is great because there’s the rose garden, which makes for a stunning backdrop in photos. There are tons of trees, and a pond with beautiful bridges. It just really captures the Spring weather here in KC.
Megan and Andrew had their wedding a few months later in September, 2021. You can see it here. I’m so glad we got to take these photos for them beforehand! We even got to include their pups for some of the pictures, which is always a good way to personalize your engagement photo shoot.
If you’re thinking about where to have your engagement session I totally recommend Loose Park as a great option!
Megan & Andrew, thank you for choosing me to capture this season of your lives!! I wish you nothing but the best!
Chris emailed me to inquire about his secret proposal to Emily at the WWI Memorial, & I knew it was going to be a beautiful event right away. He had every detail planned out!
So, the WWI Memorial & Museum here in Kansas City, looks out over the city and created the perfect backdrop for their proposal. Emily was SO excited, and of course immediately said YES!!
But the surprises weren’t over there! After we took some photos of the new fiancés together right after the proposal, we walked down the stairs and Emily’s parents were waiting for them on the lower level to congratulate them!! Nothing better than having your loved ones bring all the hype for your big days.
Getting engaged is such a fun time in life, and I feel so privileged to have captured this special time for Emily & Chris.
I love shooting at the WWI Memorial for proposals. It has such pretty views for your photos. You can see another proposal I captured there HERE.
When Caryn & David were talking with me about where to have their engagement session, I started asking them about places that were meaningful to them as a couple. They mentioned they used to do Trivia Nights at Strange Days Brewing Co in downtown Kansas City. They had very fond memories there of evenings spent playing trivia and enjoying craft beer. I think there is no better location for an engagement session than a place that is meaningful to you as a couple.
I want your session to feel mostly like a date, and I’ll be your third wheel!
So that’s what we did! We met up at Strange Days Brewing and grabbed a beer, and took some photos! These two are the cutest couple and I’m so excited for them to get married.
After a beer, we went to the beautiful Kansas City Riverfront, and took some photos with more of a nature background. I like my couples to know we can have variety in your gallery. We don’t have to stick to just one location – we can mix it up and find places that are special to you! These are images you are going to cherish forever, so it’s my goal to make them as unique and personal to you as possible.

When Beth & Kevin reached out to me about shooting their engagement session, one of the things they mentioned was how important it was to have a location that felt personal & unique to them.
We decided to shoot on their own farm land where they live with their two pups. I really love when my couples bring in those personal details, whether that is through the location or props or outfits – I like to see their story & personalities in their images.
Beth & Kevin were no exception and we had a wonderful evening shooting on their farm land during the sunset. We shot during March, so the grass gave all those warm yellow hues for a wonderful backdrop.
These two are the sweetest couple and you can just tell how much they love each other (I mean, just scroll down this blog post and you’ll see what I mean). Beth & Kevin, thank you so much for choosing me to document this special time in your life.

I met Hannah and Justin in the beautiful downtown area of Parkville, Missouri for their engagement session. We wandered around the streets, snapping photos in front of the little shops and having a great time.
Hannah and Justin nailed it with their wardrobe, finding pieces all in the same color family and coordinating instead of matching. Always a win. Hannah’s dress also had texture in the fabric and movement in the design – it worked perfectly for all the dancing/laughing shots we got at the end.
When we were done on the streets, we moved to a beautiful spot on the river right outside of Parkville. These two are so in love, and it was fun to capture their dynamic together. You can tell they have a lot of fun!
Hannah & Justin, thanks for choosing me to document this exciting time in your life! I loved shooting with you two!

I loved this couples session at the KC Loves mural in downtown Kansas City!
Kathleen & Logan were just the sweetest couple, and braved the cold for their session. Their joy and love is infectious, and we laughed a lot during this couples shoot. And shooting at the #KC Loves Mural is always such a great way to capture the vibe of the city.
I loved capturing all those in-between moments for them, where you can really see their authentic relationship. That’s always my goal with these sessions: to capture you. The truest version of you both as a couple.
Kathleen & Logan, thank you so much for choosing me to document this time in your life! I had a wonderful session at the KC Loves Mural with you two!
